Progressive Rehabilitation Medicine
Regenerative pain care led by Dr. Sunny Kim.
A board-certified physiatrist, national educator, and Cedar Rapids specialist helping patients pursue advanced non-surgical options for spine, joint, tendon, and musculoskeletal pain.
Get care from the doctor other physicians travel to learn from in advanced regenerative techniques.
Why patients choose Dr. Kim
Expert-level medicine, delivered by a doctor who cares deeply about getting the diagnosis right.
Dr. Kim founded PRM in 2005 after advanced training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. His work brings together diagnostics, image-guided care, rehabilitation, and regenerative orthopedic medicine for people who want a thoughtful alternative to surgery-first care.
He has lectured and trained physicians in regenerative medicine, but the heart of the practice is still personal: listening carefully, explaining clearly, and helping patients restore function with the least invasive path that makes clinical sense.
Clinical capabilities
Advanced tools, organized around the problems patients actually feel.
DRX9000 Spinal Decompression
A non-surgical, drug-free option for patients with disc-related back or neck pain, including bulging or herniated discs.
Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine
Image-guided orthobiologic and minimally invasive care designed to support repair in chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Deep Tissue Laser Therapy
A non-invasive therapeutic technology used to support pain relief and tissue recovery as part of a broader plan.
Diagnostics and Guided Procedures
Electrodiagnostic medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and fluoroscopic imaging help guide careful decisions before treatment.

A serious clinical pathway before any treatment recommendation.
Evaluation
Understand symptoms, history, goals, and red flags before recommending care.
